The Doors was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California by vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. They are considered a controversial and influential band, due mostly to Morrison’s cryptic lyrics and unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison’s death on July 3, 1971, the remaining members continued as a threesome until disbanding in 1973.
Despite a career that barely totaled eight years, The Doors still enjoy a huge cult following as well as status in the mainstream music industry as being hugely influential and original. According to the RIAA, they have sold over 32.5 million albums in the US alone.
In Concert is a live double album, recorded by The Doors. The album’s performances is culled from a variety of different concerts and releases. In Concert includes all the tracks from Absolutely Live (with all but one track appearing on disc one with the remaining track on disc two) and Alive, She Cried. The three remaining tracks come from An American Prayer, Live at the Hollywood Bowl and one previously unreleased.

El Mentalista: es una serie que debutó en Estados Unidos en septiembre de 2008. La serie dramática sobre crímenes de David Nutter (Supernatural, Without a Trace), se basa en Patrick Jane, un psíquico bien conocido en televisión, quien después de haber sido expuesto como un fraude, utiliza sus habilidades muy reales para ayudar al Centro de Investigaciones de California (CBI) para resolver crímenes.
Como mentalista, Jane utiliza sus bien desarrolladas habilidades como la observación, la deducción y la manipulación para ayudar a la Unidad de Crímenes Serios con la doble intención de llegar a Red John, un asesino muy buscado, que entre otras cosas mató a su esposa e hija.
Jane es un tipo muy carismático, y un tanto extraño, al estilo moderno de Sherlock Holmes, cuyos métodos controvertidos con frecuencia traspasan la línea, pero en definitiva prueban que tenía razón.
La líder del equipo, Teresa Lisbon, para la que trabaja Jane, reconoce a regañadientes sus talentos, pero está determinada a resolver los crímenes con o sin él. Con el correr de la serie se va dando cuenta que es una parte esencial de la unidad del CBI.

Rock critics usually reserve a special place for Deftones above or at least away from the rest of the turn-of-the-century nu-metal movement. While they definitely share the influence of a group like Tool with peers like Korn and Linkin Park, Deftones have always seemed more curious, more willing to incorporate traditionally revered sounds like dream pop or D.C. hardcore into their southern California alt-metal. So critics and fans alike will be happy with 2005’s Rarities, Covers and Videos, which begins with fantastic covers of Jawbox (“Savory”) and Cocteau Twins (“Wax and Wane” from 1982’s Garlands) before dropping an electro-acoustic retelling of their own “Change (In the House of Flies).” Even dads will be happy with the set: Deftones turn in a version of Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” that manages bluesy grit and soulful, weirdly androgynous Chino Moreno atmospherics at the very same time. (On second thought, maybe dads won’t be happy.) Elsewhere they tear into Helmet (a raging “Sinatra”), Duran Duran, the Cure, and the Smiths. “Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want” (where they sound like Ride) and Duran’s “Chauffeur” date from 1994, while the Cure’s “If Only Tonight We Could Sleep” is a live recording from 2004. In perhaps the most unlikely turn, Deftones also cover pop sophisticate Sade. “Ordinary Love” plateaus into a dream state and just sort of stays there. However, even here the band conjures the razor-edged queasiness that marks the best Deftones material. The previously unreleased “Black Moon” features Cypress Hill’s B Real, and “Teenager” is reworked according to Idiot Pilot’s cover of the White Pony original. (It also features that band’s Michael Harris.) Rarities, Covers and Videos also includes re-versions of Deftones originals like “Digital Bath” and “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away),” a DVD with every Deftones video, numerous photos, and liner notes for each song written by the band. More than just a holdover until a new album, Rarities, Covers and Videos is a fan thank-you that also reinforces Deftones’ ongoing creative mission.

Born in South Carolina and raised in California, Trevor Hall developed an affinity for summery acoustic music, from the beachside ambiance of Jack Johnson to the leisurely stroll of Bob Marley. Having spent his teenage years at a boarding school for the arts, Hall dedicated his life to music upon his high-school graduation. He self-released Lace Up Your Shoes in 2004; two years later, the teenaged Hall prepared for his major-label debut with Geffen Records. The Rascals Have Returned, an introductory EP produced by John Alagía, featured a soothing mix of reggae, folk, and roots rock. Sales were slow, however, and Geffen dropped Hall from their roster in 2008.Hall continued to tour, performing shows alongside the likes of Ben Harper, Matisyahu, and the Wailers. He also returned to the studio to record a self-titled sophomore album, which emphasized the artist’s reggae influences upon its release in 2009.
